Education and Professional Background
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Chestnut Hill College, where I graduated with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am licensed to practice in the State of Pennsylvania. I completed my masters degree in clinical psychology at Chestnut Hill College. I completed my doctoral APA-accredited internship at CHC’s Psychological Services Clinic in Flourtown and Northeast Treatment Centers in Center City. My doctoral dissertation focused on self-care for doctoral interns in clinical psychology and its impact on their work with clients.
In the course of my training, I have worked with a diverse group of populations, including at-risk children and teenagers, families dealing with co-parenting and divorce, children and adults with depression and anxiety disorders, and adults with co-occurring (substance use/abuse and mental health) disorders.
In the ten years from my undergraduate senior seminar to my doctoral internship, I worked with individuals, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds. I have treated clients as young as 7 y.o. up to 73 y.o. (and counting) in community-based mental health and intensive outpatient settings. My training is primarily in Psychodynamic and Family Systems theories, with additional training in CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and DBT (Dialectic Behavior Therapy) approaches.
